The program will run from July 1 to December 31, with the possibility of extension based on demand.

The expedited appointment service adds to the existing $185 visa application fee. Participants in the pilot program will be announced prior to its start date. This service intends to mitigate delays caused by recent visa screening changes, which involve stricter compliance rules under the Trump administration.

Recent measures have included visa applicants needing to provide extensive personal history information and potential bonds up to $15,000 for applicants from countries with high overstay rates. These changes have contributed to longer processing times for many foreign nationals seeking visas.

Though the expedited service promises quicker interview scheduling, it does not guarantee a visa approval. This service is particularly relevant for applicants outside the Visa Waiver Program, where interview wait times often extend to several months. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to balance national security with efficient processing.
