As Halle Berry approaches her 60th birthday, she took some time out to enjoy a tropical getaway in Fiji. The 59-year-old actress has been sharing scenic moments through her Instagram, revealing her relaxed activities in the paradise setting, including tranquil mornings, lounging by the pool, and strolling by the beach at sunset.
One of Berry’s photos caught her at the water’s edge, adorned in an animal-print cover-up over a black lace bodysuit as the sun descended. Her wrap included wide sleeves and tassels, while her short hair blew gently in the breeze.
Berry’s Fiji holiday snapshots included images like a silhouette beneath sheer fabric on an outdoor daybed, capturing sunset rays, palm trees, and an infinity pool. Another showed the ‘Catwoman’ actress in a gold bikini by the pool, balanced with a straw hat and accessorized with rings and bracelets.
Reflecting on her time, Berry jokingly noted, “The only bad thing about this trip is each day has to end.” Her vacation aligns with her introspection about aging, ahead of her birthday on August 14.
“I’m so happy to still be here, you know, when I was growing up and I thought of 60, it felt so old, you know, and now that I am 60, um, it doesn’t feel old at all,” Berry shared, emphasizing her unexpected perspective on reaching 60.
She expressed feeling more self-assured and at ease than ever before, saying, “I feel really great actually, if I’m honest, I feel, I think, better than I have in a very long time.”
Berry discussed how aging has empowered her to prioritize her own desires over others’ expectations. She highlighted the freedom she feels now, knowing she can choose how to proceed without compromise.
Berry dismisses the notion that aging signifies career culmination, maintaining her interest in continuing acting despite some suggestions that she retire. Encouraging her daughter, Nahla, Berry emphasizes choosing a career one genuinely enjoys, ensuring work remains fulfilling throughout life.
“Choose what you love so that you never feel like you want to retire, because working and being active and contributing is what keeps us young as we go down the path of life,” Berry advised.
Such advice underlines Berry’s standpoint that passion-driven work is key to staying connected and engaged at any age.
