Fatal Altercation Leads to Shooting in West Pullman

A man lost his life following a verbal dispute that escalated into violence in the West Pullman area on Saturday. Authorities reported that the 33-year-old victim was shot in the chest on the 11500 block of South Halsted Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. during an argument with a group.

Chicago police noted that after the incident, the victim was transported to Roseland Community Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased there. The Cook County medical examiner’s office later identified him as Davion L. Jackson, a resident of the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Sunday to ascertain more details about the cause of death. Meanwhile, Calumet Area detectives are actively investigating the case, as there is no information available about the shooter at this stage.
