An unexpected landing occurred in Warsaw when a passenger plane from London faced a bomb threat. This incident is part of a series of similar events affecting flights across Europe recently.
The threat emerged during a LOT Polish airlines flight from London Heathrow to Warsaw Chopin Airport. The Boeing 737 MAX instead touched down at Modlin airport in Warsaw at 10:01 a.m., according to Reuters.
Another flight from Copenhagen to Chopin airport was also threatened but managed to land without issue, Danish media reported.
Separately, a Ryanair aircraft originating from Manchester made an emergency landing at Murcia airport in Spain due to another bomb threat. Francisco Lucas, the Spanish government’s delegate for the Murcia region, noted that the flight carried 121 individuals, including crew, and confirmed the activation of security protocols. Passengers and crew underwent security checks after disembarking, and the plane is currently under inspection.
The incidents followed a prior event involving a Wizz Air flight from London Luton to Sofia, which diverted to Budapest due to a bomb threat. Subsequent security checks proved it to be a false alarm. Additionally, Bulgarian authorities reported that a plane from Israel landed in Sofia after a bomb threat.
