The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation following an incident involving a Delta Air Lines flight at Boston Logan International Airport. On Saturday, Delta’s Flight 2351 had to perform a go-around because another aircraft was departing from an intersecting runway.
According to a statement from the FAA, the event took place around 11:30 a.m. local time on June 20. The investigation aims to understand the circumstances that led to the simultaneous use of intersecting runways.
Delta Air Lines confirmed the incident in a statement to Fox News Digital. A spokesperson emphasized the importance of safety, explaining that the flight crew adhered to standard procedures. They coordinated with Air Traffic Control to execute the go-around safely, and the aircraft later landed without any issues.
Flight 2351 was operating from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in Texas to Boston Logan International Airport in Massachusetts. It carried 129 passengers and six crew members on board.
During the flight’s descent, onboard systems alerted the crew about potential traffic in the area. Delta explained that these advisories led the crew to collaborate with Air Traffic Control and perform the go-around maneuver.
Delta also noted that its aircraft are equipped with technology designed to detect and alert crews to possible conflicts with other planes.
The flight eventually landed safely, underscoring the effectiveness of the safety measures in place.
