Homeowner Discovers Fox as Milk Thief in Scotland

3 days ago 0

After experiencing weeks of missed milk deliveries, Gordon Campbell, a resident of Glasgow, Scotland, decided to investigate the mysterious disappearances. To his surprise, the culprit was not a human but a young fox, as revealed by surveillance footage captured by SWNS.

Campbell, 42, noticed the recurring issue of missing milk bottles and set up a security camera to catch the thief in action. The camera footage showed the clever fox approaching the doorstep, grabbing a glass bottle with its mouth, and carrying it away.

The homeowner had been puzzled by the situation for about a month. Initially, Campbell suspected a human perpetrator. He even humorously speculated that a “militant vegan” might be responsible for the thefts. However, after reviewing the footage, he realized that an animal was the actual culprit.

Campbell had suspected magpies due to their intelligence, but he doubted their ability to manage a glass bottle. Determined to uncover the true thief, Campbell set up a trap by placing a spare bottle outside and installing a camera. The plan succeeded, as the fox appeared around 2:30 a.m. on July 20 and took the bait.

Expressing amusement at the unexpected revelation, Campbell commented, “I just thought it was kind of hilarious that this cute fox was popping up and taking it away.” He added that he forgave the fox upon seeing its charming features.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Campbell had been receiving milk deliveries but had temporarily stopped due to the persistent thefts. He now plans to resume deliveries, preparing a protective box to store the milk safely.

This incident wasn’t the fox’s first appearance at the family’s home. Months earlier, Campbell’s cat, Bruce, had chased away another fox attempting to enter through the cat door.
