The dismissal of senior safety Jacob Fields from the team has sparked controversy. Fields allegedly assaulted wide receiver Dozie Ezukanma, identified in a now-deleted Instagram video. Consequently, TCU rescinded the Star-Telegram’s credentials to cover the Horned Frogs, citing concerns for student athletes’ health and wellbeing.

TCU athletic director Mike Buddie highlighted the situation, stating the necessity to protect student athletes due to misinformation from an unnamed source. He noted the spread of inaccurate details endangered a student’s safety, leading to threats. Buddie emphasized the department’s commitment to student health and focus on forthcoming games.
