White House Historical Association Quiet on Presidential Change

2 hours ago 0

In October, President Donald Trump initiated the demolition of the White House’s East Wing. This decision shocked the public, members of Congress, and even some within his administration.

However, the leaders of the White House Historical Association were not caught off guard. They had been aware of the plans as early as July and chose not to contest the president’s decision.

The group, founded by Jacqueline Kennedy, exists to preserve the White House’s historical integrity. Despite its mission, it refrained from voicing criticism on this particular change.

For most, the news of the demolition emerged only when the wrecking equipment began its work, nearly three months after plans were made known to the Historical Association.
