Brandi Glanville is undergoing significant surgery as part of her ongoing health struggle. In her podcast, “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered,” the 53-year-old reality star discussed an upcoming “exploratory surgery.” Scheduled for Friday, Oct. 22, the procedure aims to address unknown issues beneath her skin.
Glanville mentioned, “Dr. Carlo Honrado is performing the surgery, essentially removing my face and conducting a thorough examination under my skin.” She noted two specific areas of concern, possibly home to fungal or other living formations, attributing movement to something alive. After four years of symptoms, she expressed eagerness but also fear due to the surgery’s intensity compared to a facelift.
Despite her anxiety, Glanville is optimistic about the surgery’s outcome, given Dr. Honrado’s strong reputation. She is comfortable with the $5,000 cost, hoping for a successful removal and resolution. The issue initially manifested in her face and jaw, eventually spreading to her neck and down her spine. Eliminating the primary problem would simplify its further management.
Her ordeal began in Morocco in 2023 when she believed she contracted a parasite, resulting in facial paralysis. Initially diagnosed with stress-induced angioedema, recent diagnoses include resistant ESBL Klebsiella, Enterobacter with biofilm, Valley fever, Demodex dermatitis, and mononucleosis. Treatment involves costly daily IV therapy ranging from $3,300 to $6,000 monthly.
In a Fox News Digital interview, the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum discussed competing on “Special Forces” for financial reasons after years of medical expenses. “The medical system here is broken,” she lamented, overwhelmed by creditors chasing debts despite insurance coverage saying nothing was wrong. The situation forced her to exhaust saved funds and empty her 401(k), leaving a once-secure financial future unstable.
Participating in the show also represented her desire for personal redemption and to prove her capability. “I just want this situation resolved,” Glanville stated in September, longing for restoration of health and normalcy.
