The New York City skyline displayed patriotic colors as the Empire State Building was illuminated in red, white, and blue. This was part of the celebration for Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary.
“FOX & Friends” co-hosts Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Brian Kilmeade, and Lawrence Jones were present at the Empire State Building’s Observation Deck. They participated in a special ceremony to light up the iconic building and took the opportunity to tour the landmark.
Since its launch in 1996, Fox News has grown from a new cable news network into an established presence in American television news. Over the past three decades, the network has covered some of the most consequential stories and events of our time, with generations of journalists, anchors, correspondents, producers and teams who have contributed to its 24-hour news coverage.
These words were shared by Empire State Building GM Dan Rogoski before inviting the “FOX & Friends” co-hosts to express their thoughts.
Steve Doocy, an original member of the Fox News team since its launch on October 7, 1996, shared his gratitude towards Fox Corporation leaders. He thanked Rupert Murdoch, Lachlan Murdoch, Suzanne Scott, and Jay Wallace for their support and leadership.
Doocy remarked, “As one of the original people at the Fox News Channel based here in Midtown, we are delighted that the Empire State Building would honor us.”
Ainsley Earhardt reflected on the journey from “humble beginnings.” She shared how meaningful it was to be part of lighting up the building, reminiscing about her childhood admiration for the landmark.
Brian Kilmeade, despite battling laryngitis, injected humor into the event by referencing the movie “Elf.” He praised Fox News for allowing personalities to be authentic, creating a unique and thriving environment.
“They hire you to be you. Anyone on the air that you like or dislike, you will feel the same way when you meet them. It’s one of the most fortunate things that could ever happen to me personally,” Kilmeade shared.
Lawrence Jones emphasized that the opportunity to partake in the event was a “dream come true.” He credited Rupert Murdoch and Lachlan Murdoch for identifying a gap in the market and successfully building a channel to serve that audience. Jones expressed appreciation for Suzanne Scott and Jay Wallace, recognizing their significant roles in his career development.
In conclusion, the “FOX & Friends” co-hosts flipped the ceremonial switch, lighting the Empire State Building in Fox News’ iconic colors. It marked a milestone in the channel’s history, highlighting its evolution and ongoing impact in media.
