Landon Robinson’s Memorable NFL Debut

On the day of the NFL’s tribute to the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Robinson honored his military background as a Navy Academy graduate and a military officer.

Robinson’s journey includes a degree in cyber operations and a commission as a second lieutenant in the Marine Corps. Thanks to a provision for service-academy athletes, he plays for the Bengals while serving in the reserves.

The Bengals selected Robinson in the seventh round of the April draft. This made him their first service-academy draft pick since 1968. He assured the team of his 10-year reserve commitment, which would not interfere with his football career, though active duty remains a possibility.

Despite being inactive for Sunday’s game, Robinson’s presence on the 53-man roster marks a significant accomplishment. His experience at the Naval Academy shaped his leadership and discipline, qualities that secured his spot in the NFL.
